The Student Voices campaign, launched by the California Alliance for Arts Education, invites students to share their answers to the question “Why do the arts matter?” with their elected officials. Unique, personal stories captured on video will provide Sacramento legislators with powerful evidence of the many ways that visual art, music, theater and dance empower and equip young people for a successful future. The campaign launches January 22, 2013 just as new elected officials take office and runs until runs until March 31, 2013.
