Parents fighting to get more art education into the public schools have a new organization — the Milton Visual Arts Alliance — and plan to make their case before the School Committee again this week.
The groupās logo features Leonardo da Vinciās āMona Lisaā with the word ārestoreā printed across her face.
āArt matters in Milton!ā the group says in its mission statement. āWe are passionate parents and Milton residents who are concerned about the state of visual arts education in Milton Public Schools.
āOur mission is to increase the role of visual arts education in our schools to keep children healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.ā
Earlier this month, parents and students flooded a School Committee meeting to protest the limited amount of art classes offered in the elementary schools.
