How to teach art without spending hours prepping

Posted on 11 Mar at 9:00 am

You have enough things to plan already:

Reading lessons, math instruction, science experiments, and parent communications.Β

Adding art to that list means more hours searching for ideas, gathering supplies, and hoping the project actually works when 25 students try it at once.

Meet the Masters takes that weight off:

  • Every lesson comes complete.Β
  • The presentation is built.Β
  • The script is written.Β
  • The materials are organized.Β

You get a full hour of instruction without spending your evening on Pinterest looking for ideas.

MTM students learn how to create tessellations inspired by M.C. Escher.

But here’s what makes it more valuable than just saving time…

The lessons connect to what you’re already teaching:

  • M.C. Escher introduces tessellations, which reinforce geometry concepts.
  • Alexander Calder teaches balance and engineering principles.
  • Frida Kahlo, Rosa Bonheur, and Henri Rousseau all explore animals and nature through art, connecting to science units.

Art becomes more than a Friday afternoon activity.Β

It becomes another way to reinforce concepts students need to master anyway.

And if you’re in Southern California, you can have one of our teachers come in and lead the lesson. A new face brings fresh energy to the classroom. Students perk up when someone different walks in. It feels like a special event, not just another Tuesday.

Either way, you’re not starting from scratch.Β

The research is done. The lesson is tested. The supplies are ready.

You just show up and teach.

Warm regards,

Meet the Masters

Everyone Loves MTM!

As a volunteer for my son’s school, Peace with Christ Christian School, in Aurora, Colorado, I recommended the Meet the Masters program to the art teacher and to the principal. One track was purchased the next year and another track was purchased the subsequent year. Volunteers moved between classrooms presenting artists to children who were excited and enthusiastic about learning the Masters of art.Β  The curriculum presented the artist biography, broke down art techniques into manageable pieces, and enhanced the students artistic skills.

Wishing you many years of continued success in bringing art and Meet the Masters to children, of all ages.
