Historical, Culturally Diverse, Standards-Based Art Lessons to Inspire Young Artists

About the Artist

Henri Matisse (1869-1954)
Your students will discover the abstract art of French artist, Henri Matisse.  His bold use of color and shape in his paper cutouts expose the children to a new medium and style of art.  In their classrooms, the children create masterpiece cutouts of their own using a sea motif.
