About Edward Hopper (1882-1967)

Edward Hopper was an American realist painter and printmaker. Born in 1882, he is best known for his depictions of American life and culture, particularly his scenes of isolated motels, diners, and gas stations. Hopper's works are characterized by their attention to light and shadow, as well as their evocative use of color and composition. He was a master of capturing the mood and atmosphere of modern life, and his works often convey a sense of loneliness and isolation.

Today, Hopper's works continue to be celebrated for their innovative techniques and insightful depictions of American life, and can be found in major museums around the world. He remains one of the most influential and beloved artists of the 20th century, and his works continue to inspire new generations of artists and art lovers alike.
