A blend of tradition and art – create a clay masterpiece like Maria Martinez!

Posted on March 28, 2025

Inspired by the incredibly talented potter Maria Martinez, we offer a unique curriculum using magic modeling clay.

Here’s what makes this lesson so special:

  • This is a hands-on experience. Students learn real potter techniques like kneading, molding, creating coils, and more!

  • Students express individuality through designs. They apply various symbols and patterns learned from the southwest pueblo Native Americans . This clay accepts tempera paint, resembling the way Maria Martinez used to design her work.

  • The clay dries in just hours! Unlike other clay and ceramics, there is no need for a kiln. The clay air dries into a firm and durable masterpiece. So there is no need to worry about breaks or cracks, this clay is made specially for kids!

Everyone Loves MTM!

I appreciate the program package that you offer. It has been helpful for us in our school to provide such a broad exposure to artists and genres. I’ve experienced many different methods of art instruction in various schools I’ve served.

I’ve just completed my first year at my school as principal and this has been very valuable program for us.
